Albina Panganiban Manzanal
1928-2009
Albina was born in Poblacion Buruanga Aklan, Philippines on Dec. 16, 1928 to Herminigildo Panganiban and Basilia Canja. She has 4 older brothers and 2 younger sisters all whom were deceased.
She graduated from Philippine Women’s University in 1950 with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Education. In 1970 she pursues higher education in (MSAT) Marikina School of Arts and Trades with a Master’s Degree in Education Supervision and Management.
She was a teacher by profession at Buruanga Vocational School in her hometown for 30 years. She was promoted as Head of Related Subjects Department and later became a college professor teaching Communication Arts.
In June of 1964 she married Dante Lejarzo Manzanal and a year later they were blessed to have a daughter. Her husband also passed away in July of 2003. They were married for 39 years.
Albina is survived by her only daughter Dulce Alda Monte-Alegre and her 2 grandaughters Jonah Micah and Jerica Vina.
She passed away peacefully on Nov. 8, 2009 at her residence in Lamplighter Mobile Home Park in Camarillo, CA with her only daughter at her side. She will be remembered as a kind, caring, and loving person always devoted to her family.
A memorial service will be held at Foursquare Church in Camarillo, CA on Nov. 14, 2009 @ 11:00 AM with Pastor Richard Ledesma as officiating minister.
